About WESTFEST, OTTAWA
A not-for-profit organization, WESTFEST, Westboro Village's Festival of Music, Art & Life (www.westfest.ca), is a free festival that takes place annually in Westboro Village, Ottawa. WESTFEST is a diverse celebration dedicated to showcasing music, literature, spoken word, dance, visual art, performance art and theatre.
Now in its 7th year, WESTFEST is Ottawa's premiere outdoor festival of the summer. An estimated 80,000 Westfest-goers will walk the streets of this 100% Canadian festival from June 11 to 13, 2009.
One of the reasons WESTFEST is so popular with the masses is because the performances appeal to such a wide range of audiences. For instance, the following performers may have a larger lesbian/gay following while still finding favour with the majority straight crowd:
